Understanding business processes and the tasks that comprise them is becoming an increasingly important part of any automation strategy. Blueprint Software Systems, a Toronto-based provider of automation design environment technology, said it has launched a tool that promotes that understanding.

Whether it’s called process mining, intelligence or discovery, being able to identify which processes can and should be automated, reveals bottlenecks and inefficiencies in processes and reducing operating costs is an essential competency to complement RPA technology. In fact, a study by the Everest Group found that the process mining software market more than doubled between 2018 and 2019, growing 150 percent to reach around $240 million.

Blueprint says its new tool, called Blueprint Task Capture, will enable business line users who might not be versed in an organization’s systems to more easily gather the intelligence needed to identify automation opportunities and scale their programs.

“The process discovery market is growing quickly,” says Dan Shimmerman, CEO, Blueprint. “Yet the current machine-based tools available are often problematic, expensive, hard to deploy and manage, provide too much noise in terms of data, and don’t connect well with RPA platforms. Our solution is designed to eliminate these challenges while also offering process design and attribution capabilities that no other process discovery platform has today, coupled with the ability to integrate with any RPA platform.”
