Deloitte Acquires Aussie RPA Consultancy

In the ecosystem that has emerged around robotic process automation, consultants have established a presence as an important conduit between technology providers and end users. Some of the most well-known consultancies in the world have established large RPA practices, but many boutiques serving specialized niches have also sprung up. This week, one of the giants has gobbled up one of the smaller players in a move that likely will replay itself many times as the industry matures.

Deloitte has announced it will acquire The Eclair Group, an Australian consultancy specializing in RPA, machine learning and intelligent automation. The Sydney-based company has developed a platform based on machine learning technology that can provide insights on automation initiatives in real time.

“Robotic and Cognitive Automation solutions are an integral part of doing business today,” said Moynihan said Alex Moynihan, Eclair’s CEO, who will join Deloitte as a partner in its Robotic & Cognitive Automation practice. “We do not go to our clients stating that we can bring in ML or AI capabilities. We talk to them about their challenges, business processes, operational strategies and methodologies, and the opportunities for growth, cost reduction, compliance, customer experience or other improvement drivers.”

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
