Workplaces in a post-Covid-19 world are expected to change dramatically. One of the effects experts have predicted that massive layoffs and social distancing policies will have is an increase in companies scaling automation programs using RPA. South Korean consumer products company LG confirmed that prediction in a UPI report when it said it will automate hundreds of new processes by the end of 2020.

The company has already used RPA bots to automate 500 processes and will nearly double that number this year by adding approximately 400 more.

“Currently, our robotic software replaces human works amounting to 12,000 hours a month,” an LG official told UPI News Korea. “Then our employees will be able to focus on more innovative and valuable tasks.”
