UiPath Acquires Cloud Elements to Augment API Capability

Just six weeks after securing a massive $750 million fundraising round, it appears UiPath has earmarked at least some of that money for an acquisition. The New York City-based RPA technology provider announced it has acquired API integration platform provider Cloud Elements. According to the companies, the deal creates what it believes is the first RPA platform that can deliver both user interface and API-based automation for enterprises.

The company believes the combination enables UiPath to offer a flexible approach to automating processes that can leverage both cloud and API-based integrations to various applications.

“Automating the enterprise requires connecting the enterprise,” said Mark Geene, co-founder and CEO of Cloud Elements. “Combining our API integration and management capabilities with UiPath’s powerful offering strengthens the glue of enterprise connectivity and expands the reach and efficiency of automation projects for enterprises across the globe.”

The acquisition accelerates UiPath’s efforts to build API integration capability connecting commonly used enterprise systems. Cloud Elements has more than 200 existing native integrations UiPath users can now access.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
