RPA provider Automation Anywhere recently held what it is claiming was the first “botathon” in India. The company held the event at Dayanda Sagar College of Engineering in Bengaluru to inspire the creation of software bots that can be used in automation projects in India. While North America remains the largest market for RPA implementations, process automation via RPA is experiencing high growth in India and the space has been identified as a prime source of jobs for development talent there.

“The Botathon initiative from Automation Anywhere encourages students to acquire a better understanding of RPA,” said Dr. C. P. S. Prakash, Principal of Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering. “We welcome new initiatives and are proud to have been an early partner to design a “Bot Lab” at our DSCE campus and will continue to strengthen our relationship with Automation Anywhere to offer courses that bring RPA into our future curriculum.”

More than 1,000 students participated in the botathon, and Automation Anywhere is planning similar events in Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Jalandhar, and Delhi.
